While last week was the last of the actual symphony movements, there are still two more pieces of music we debuted on our wedding day, and these last two are both original compositions of Aaron's. I’m so excited to share these and give them the attention they deserve because I feel like not a lot of people are aware of his musical range beyond EDM.
In fact, now that we’re almost to the end of the Ar & Mar wedding symphony spectacular, I just have to gush for a moment about how insanely lucky I am to have found not only my soulmate, but a musical one too. I never even thought to ask for or dream about that!
Getting to write and perform with my person in a bizarre amount of different genres is something I hope I never take for granted. Being with someone who doesn’t get your passion is a huge bummer, and being with someone who not only gets it, but is actively a part of it is just surreal.
If you didn’t know, I didn’t just marry a DJ, y’all. I was lucky enough to marry a guy who can just sit down and improvise achingly beautiful piano melodies for infinite lengths of time. What a dream!
When tasked with writing an original piece of music for the moment that marked the beginning of our actual wedding, this piece called “Nostalgia” is what he came up with. I think it captured the mood really well, and appropriately lifted us out of the sad melodies that made up most of the symphony.
I feel so lucky to have these moments commemorated not only with photos but actual pieces of music that were written just for the occasion and will always remind me of this day when I hear them (okay now they also remind me of the redwoods 😉).
AND if you didn’t know, Aaron and I offer that service as part of our custom wedding packages! If you or anyone you know is getting married, values music, and has a deeply sentimental side, we’d love to write you your very own wedding song(s)! Instrumental, vocal, electronic, whatever your vibe is, we’d love to help you create a one of a kind soundtrack to one of the most special memories of your life. More info on that can be found HERE.
On a personal note, I can’t wait for this weekend, where we’ll be returning to our wedding spot for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. One huge perk to getting married at a park/campground is that you can go back to where it all began and re-soak in all that energy every year. I’m so excited to actually feel relaxed this time! Haha
We’re gonna need all the rest we can get because next week is about to be absolutely INSANE for us! The music train is rolling and we can’t wait for all the stops!
Anyway, here's the video! Enjoy :)
